AtlAtl Development

Creating a new standard for honest, human technology.

A project gets approved, a temporary team gets assembled, and code is produced just fast enough to meet a deadline. Six months later the people who wrote it are gone, the system is fragile, and no one truly understands how it works.

That is not how we build things.

Atlatl Development exists for people who expect their software to last. We write systems we understand completely, and we stand behind them long after they are delivered.

Our Mission

At Atlatl Development we believe software should be built with care, responsibility, and a clear understanding of how it will live in the world long after launch.

We are not a company that assembles temporary teams to push out projects as quickly as possible. Every developer who works here is part of the company full time. They share the same standards, the same expectations, and the same sense of ownership over the systems we build.

When we deliver something to a client, we expect to remember it.

Five years from now when you need a feature added, when a database needs to be accessed, when a system needs to evolve, you should not be looking at code written by people who disappeared the moment the invoice was paid. You should be working with the same team that designed the system and understands why every part of it exists.

That continuity matters. Software that lasts requires people who stay.

We also believe that the best systems come from understanding the technology all the way down. Our work is built from the ground up and we rely on as few outside dependencies as possible. When software becomes a fragile tower of third party services, the reliability of the entire system is handed over to companies that have no stake in your success.

We prefer a different approach.

We understand the code we write at every level. We know how it works, why it works, and how to fix it when something changes.

That means when a large platform has an outage or pushes an update that breaks half the internet, your system is not left helpless. It continues to function because it was built with intention rather than convenience.

Atlatl exists to build software that people can depend on. Not just at launch, but years later when it still needs to work exactly the way it was meant to.

"Most software today is built to ship quickly and be someone else’s problem later." ~ Justin Able
